The DSP-equipped version includes a DSP converter so the BMW can integrate with the DICE correctly.

You can leave the iPod in the trunk, but we would prefer having it in the cabin area with you so you don't have to go to the trunk every time you wanted to synchronize music.

Tom do you sell DSP converter separately? Also what did you mean by music synchronization? I thought after I connect DICE I can control everything using radio or steering controls

music synchronization = loading music onto the iPod. The DICE will control the iPod via the steering wheel or radio controls.

Oh that's not a problem, I'm not going to load music frequently. Also what happen when I turn the vehicle off and then on? Will the iPod be running all the time in my trunk or it turns on/off with the vehicle or I have to turn on iPod manually?

The iPod will turn on/off with the DICE and vehicle's ignition. If the source is switched to radio, the DICE sees it and pauses the iPod.

Last question: I'm still debating between DICE and OEM MP3 Changer, since I don't have any available iPods for the setup I got to purchase one and that makes the price is about the same for both alternatives. I found one OEM BMW changer which plays MP3s and has coax input for my Digital DSP (production date July 2005) but I'm afraid I have to update my Business Tape Radio as well (I got 2001 X5). Do you know anything about that?

Are you ever sure you are running Digital DSP? Most MY05 were analog, check this page to find out your configuration: http://www.europeanautosource.com/su...mod_id=2&id=11

The BMW MP3 changers are over 3x the price of the DICE kit and offer a much smaller music library what what the iPod can handle.

My X is 2001 and it has coaxial and three pin connected to my current changer. DICE price for DSP = 228.00 + $120 (iPod) = $348 not much cheaper.

The DSP kit ($228) already includes the DSP converter. Nothing else is needed.
