at what pressue? I assume the cooling system is runing at 15psi. that'll raise the boiling point of water to 250F+

yes glycol in coolant to raise it more but you won't ever reach 250F unless something is broken.

just top off with distilled water and find the leak. then add the proper mix of water/coolant.
