DVD Entertainment System

I have a 2004 4.4. Is it possible to put a DVD system in the headrests if you have the comfort seats? If so, any recommendations to online sites for purchase?

You cannot use the BMW system with the comfort seats. As for aftermarket items, I'm sure it could be done.

I believe the only option you have with comfort seatsis to have a custom install using your existing headrests.

You may want to check out the URL below. A fully integrated headrest monitor looks really nice but when I saw this I thought it might be a nice alternative for those who want a slightly larger screen than what the headrests can accommodate or for those who can't/won't put their headrests to the knife.

I dont think those are made for comfort seats. Only basic and sport because the headrest "legs" sit further apart on the comfort seats.

Oops! i did not notice that. Check out Drex's custom headrest. They may work for you.

Ive only seen those installed on european vehicles (760Li). Requires the puchase of the monitor and seat back cover. $1400.00+ per side without dvd unit and wiring. I cant say that its worth that amount.

I had an X5 for a loaner recently and it had the comfort seats. However, the dealer put in 2 Vizualogic LCDs in both headrests. You can't tilt the headrests any longer and they dont fit in right. You're probably right. Maybe those weren't made for the comfort seats.
