loctite sells a resin based windshield repair kit that actually worked fairly well as I did this on the windshield on my M5.. I had about 1/4" star from a rock hitting the windshield that is now barely noticeable now.. takes a couple of tries to perfect your technique but worth the $12 if you comprehensive insurance deductable is high.

Thanks Quicksilver I will try to fix it. I will post before and after picture this weekend. Hope it works.

It also says that ultraviolet rays will cure repair compound. I have portable Ultraviolet light gun, I will try it to see if it helps.

Red face

SANguru,

Thank you for your information.

It's not matter of money or insurance. I went to Safelite auto glass store to get fix it but they told me that damage(chip) is not deep enough to do anything.

I don't want to go to other store because Safelite auto glass was the only company that I heard good things about.

Since I have two chips, I will try that product too.

how can safelite say that it's not enough damage to repair or replace? it's your car if you want the windshield replaced get it replaced. Do you have full glass coverage on your insurance policy? it should be a no-deductable repair covered by your insurance...

good luck

Out here the glass people call each month to find out if you need your windshield fixed - There are roads that are not paved and they seal the roads out here by laying down oily tar with a coating of fine stone - Later they reclaim the stone that has not embedded in the roadway and worked its way to the side of the road - It keeps the road from developing cracks and then break apart due to the cold winters - Most insurance cos will waive the deductible if you have 3 or less chips that can be repaired without replacement - check with your insurance co - some have separate policies for windshields not included in the comprehensive.
