no. you don't put dialetic (sp?) grease on the thread. that's for the electrical contact points.

You are absolutely right, sorry for the confusion. What I put was anti seize grease on the thread to make removal easier. What I did was sprayed a bit of silicone dielectric spray inside the connectors that hook up to the back of the plug.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Yeah, but the OEM ones have BMW stamped on'em. Isn't that worth an extra $10/each (8 ROFLs for 8 plugs )

BTW, link?

I didn't really want to know how much spark plugs costs at the dealership but now I do.

$ 15 a pop, I've been punked!! but the only reason I bought at the stealer is that I don't want to hear any "you did not have the original parts" should anything happens that has to be covered under warranty.

I guess even with the same serial number it should not be an issue, but who knows. I've hear also it is recommended to use BMW's coolant/antifreeze vs aftermarket ones. Is this true?

What a coincidence, I just installed my new plugs today.

I have an 02 3.0 with 63k and installed plugs, air filter (K&N insert), cabin filter, and oil. It runs so much better now!!!

The plugs looked identical to the ones shown above, they were bad.

Guys, FYI the grease goes on the rubber "spark plug wire boot" to keep it from melting, sticking, or just getting stuck to the spark plug. Then next time you pull off the boot it'll come off easy. You need anti-seize compound when you thread into dissimilar metals. Ie.. steel spark plug into an aluminum head, it will keep them from galling.

When I change my plugs I went with BOSCH PLATNIUM+4 Plugs.

Yesterday, I changed my all 8 spark plugs myself. I used BOSCH FGR7DQP plugs (as shown in realoem.com). It only cost US$5 each, total US$40. The NGK BKR6EQUP costs a bit expensive, around US$9.5 each, the parts shop man told me that they are exactly same, so I bought the cheap one. The car runs better now.
