He said that he and Jenn would drive around trying to figure out what they were, and they were in random areas along the street.

When I want icons to go away, I just do a search for BMW service centers. Since they are few and far between where I live, I rarely have to bother with seeing an icon on the screen.

So it makes sense, the bulls-eyes are the locations you last searched for.?.?

When I initially put in a search for information on car parks/rest areas the bullseye appreared but when I searched for petrol stations little pumps appreared everyhere as well as the bullseye... I reckon the bullseye has a different identity with each country.

On my E92, they represent a "Downtown Area." What exactly defines a downtown area, I do not know. They've shown up on my map in some very random places.. For example, at home, a cluster of houses along a certain section of road shows up as a downtown area, but it clearly isn't.

With regard to my previous message earlier I have since gone to my 'bullseye' location and as stated by Curious Joel I experienced the same scenario with the bullseye identifying a 'cluster of houses along a certain section of road' - so I parked up and tried to figure out what the significance of the 'bullseye' on my screen had to do with a row of houses??... nothing special just a row of terraced houses on a normal stretch of road....

Lets wait and see if Michelle hears from Jenn after they drive around to see if they can explain further...

I was led to believe that the bullseyes' are the mobile phone repeater stations that the nav programs and GPS use to triangulate your position.

As they are generally small and placed on top of buildings, they can be anywhere on top of a town hall or restaurant etc...

Cheers

That was my initial understanding of that too that they were symbolising a sub-station or tx. mast/repeater station but I can't imagine one of those smack bang in the middle of a row of houses..

We thought maybe they were fire hydrants, but there weren't any where the bulleyes were.

It has to be something emmiting radiation of some description as a 'bulleye' with a dot surrounded by 2 circles usually represents a a pile-on or a mast. The mind boggles.....
