Disconnected the radio, then reconnected it but no difference still no sound. must be the Amp? all the fuses are fine.

What system do you have? Navigation or Standard and do you have DSP.

I have a spare amp that worked with my system.... which is navigation - no dsp.

In my system the head unit up front is just a monitor. It actually has the head unit "brains -- radio module" back under the spare tire which then goes to an amp in the left rear quarter panel. So if you have a similar system it could be either the amp or the radio module.

this has happened to my x like 3 times last mo for the last time before i went to the stereo shopp and had a custom system installed..

so the problem is the connection to the amp needs to be reset , the way to do it (and i know cause i watched the dealer do it 3 x's) remove the spare tire unscrew the dome shape thingy and remove some brackets then you'll see the amp just pull the plugs out then reinstall them run to the front and check it'll be fixed !! but it'll happen again i dont know why but mine did it like 3x's in like 6 mo's !!

hope this helps !!

Alright, so far I have pulled all 3 groups of wires from the amp, disconnected the battery and checked the fuses. The radio apears to be working fine it lights up and all looks normal except no sound. Got to be the amp? Any quick way that I can check the Amp to make sure. Anybody got an amp laying around that they would like to sell? part #65 12 6 905 119 thanks

I had an old volvo with a built in amp aswell and I bypassed the amp. I am not sure if you can do it in the X or not, but run the wires directly from the radio to each speaker, basically re-wire the whole car. Its alot of work but I would go with new amp first!
