trim painting

i want to paint my intererior trim pieces, and the exterior trim pieces as well possibly. Probably a dark grey or something. Two of the door pieces have the cracking on them though. So I am wondering if sanding it down, which i need to do anyway for the primer and paint to adhere will take care of those or if it will show up in the paint job.

anyone attempted this before? Or where can i get replacement door pieces inexpensively? Doesn't matter what kind since I am painting them.

Also if the existing exterior trim is removed can it be put back on easily?

Hello,

not sure about paint job, but yes, you can put those trims back on easily except center console trim.

You have to remove the entire center console to remove the trim. It's not that hard... I just did it last weekend. Here is the proceedure:
