I used both oven mitts to remove the light then just kept one on to hold the light still while I worked the screwdriver to open it. If you open the headlight quick enough there will be a silver piece behind the amber and you can try and pull it off. On both of mine I did that and it came right off with no dremel and left no residue. It's just glued on.
