Unhappy Service Engine Soon light E-code P0440

My ses light came on today. it has been a while since the last fiasco with the light and my X has been really good to me these past few month (and of course vice versa) this morning the ses light came on and when I attached the code reader to see what it was it gave be a P0440 (EVAP emmisions malfunction message. does anyone know how to fix this problem without going into the stealer? greatly appreciate.

Reset it.

Probably from the gas cap.

I got the same code. My gas cap wire was being pinched by the cap. I reset it and it hasn't come back on.

There is an article on how to do it on the X5world home page. Essentially, you need to clear the fault codes using a code reader, according to the article.

If you fix the problem, the light should go off after a while on its own, especially if its the gas cap.
