Help - Engine Misfire Problems...

I'm getting the following codes:

P 0363 misfire detected, fueling disabled.

P1343 misfire cylinder 1
P1345 misfire cylinder 2
P1347 misfire cylinder 3
P1349 misfire cylinder 4
P1355 misfire cylinder 7
P1357 misfire cylinder 8

What I have done:
1. Replaced all spark plugs (no oil found in the spark plug holes)
2. Changed the valve cover gaskets

X is running very rough and not idling properly. Not sure where to go next.
Either coils, catalytic converter, Air pump control valve, camshaft, oil seperator, fuel filter.

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

what's the part number on the spark plugs you used? they might be the wrong heat range.

I don't have the box that they came in anymore, but I got the OEM replacements from my local BMW shop.

However, I was getting the same fault codes before I replaced the spark plugs.

My thoughts would be intake leak. I'd have the intake system smoke tested to see if you have some bad intake or injector o-rings. From there it could also be the MAF or the rear crank case breather hoses that are notorious for turning to mush.

Best of luck. The misfire code is not very specific so when I had the same thing the dealer started with the smoke test etc. Ironically I got it only on really hot summer days.

After replacing all of the gaskets and not solving the problem we tracked it donw to the AC compressor failing and vibrating such that the engine computer thought the engine was misfiring. (Very rare I am sure.)

E61Silver is an unknown quantity at this point
What year is the X5?

My 2004 4.4 had misfire that was caused by the variable value timing system.

The dealer replaced the timing motor and related parts and in run GREAT now.
