This SUCKS

On Saturday, July 30, 2005, I picked up my brand new X5 4.4i. It has the 19" "132" wheels with the staggered size Michelin Diamaris tires. The rears are 285/45/19.

This morning, August 2, 2005, I come out and find a #@$% Nail through the sidewall of the left rear tire (of course, it's the larger, more expensive tire that's shot). Tomorrow morning I get to pay America's Tire Store $285.00 for a new tire w/ mount and balance.

You know, the thing that gets me isn't so much shelling out the $ for the new tire, but what an incredible waste it is to throw a $250 tire in the garbage with less than 300 miles on it.

Oh well.

You paid a lot.
It's $243 @ Tirerack, and if you know someone who's an affiliate, you could get around 5% off if they are a buddy or something.

How's that? The tire is $250 at America's Tire Store, Tax is $19.38, and mount / balance is ~15.00.

Once you ship the Tire Rack tire, you're paying more for it.

uuuh... that doesn't include mounting and balancing and also shipping so that's pretty much a wash.

Oops, you guys are right.
My bad, I don't pay for the mounting and balancing because I have a friend at a shop that helps me out.

And then we have a FedEx company account.

I wish that would have been the case--I'd be about $40 richer right now.

Regardless, America's Tire gave me road hazard on all 4 tires for another $120, so if I ruin another tire, its covered.

That sucks..................I bought a wheel and tire protection program from my dealer that covers any bending of wheels(chuck holes, etc...) or blow outs with no deductible for 4 years. Your incident alone would have paid for over half the cost. No way you can plug it and use it in an emergency?
