Exclamation Help with trunk release issue ??

For some reason, when I turn the ignition off, my trunk pops! I dunno why, but I have to go and close it every time I turn the truck off.

It just started yesterday, and still did it this morning. Is there something I'm missing?

It opens just fine with the key fob, the interior release button works ok too.

Any thoughts??

are u positive you aren't pressing the button when you turn the key? have u tried turning off your ignition with a valet key? if you dont have a valet key - is it consistent EVERY time?

I don't have the valet key. It is consistent every time. I called my dealer and she laughed at me..lol.

It happens every time, just don't know why. The first time it happened, I thought that I somehow hit the trunk release on the key fob, so the next time, I didn't touch the front of the key...

It just started yesterday evening, it's done it every time since then. Thr trunk isn't popped when I get in the vehicle, there seems to be nothing wrong with the interior release or the key. It's almost like it's doing me a favor by opening the trunk, I just don't want it to...lol.

hi, have you fixed this issue yet?

I have an 01 4.4 and my trunk pops open for no reason too! I have to lock my doors as soon as i get into the car, or else trunk will open.

thanks
