BMW has a goodwill warranty, will replace the cluster for free parts, you pay one hour labor:
http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...t=free+cluster Lots of people on this forum have had there cluster replaced under this program. |

Thanks !!!!!!!! I know that . But I have a few clusters with low miles and I want to fix them. I also have a few good clusters for VW AUDI which I set to 0 miles so they can be programmed by dealer . Same thing I want to do with BMW clusters.

BMW UK has not admitted a fault on the clusters, so we get no free replacements.
I have had to use the spray method using contact cleaner and it works 100%. I only did it 6 weeks ago so i cant say if it will work long term |

I forgot to mention that all it simply does is remove dust from the ribbon cables that stop the signal reaching the LCD

Hi,
I used the spray for electric contacts in my X5 2003 and it worked great. All you have to do is to take out the housing and after take out the LCD panel then spray at the small leds wich are under and let it for 30 min to dry. reassemble the LCD and the housing and that's it. it has been succesfull in 2 cars for me .
