I have X5 2003 and one of the keys doesn't start the engine. All buttons on the key are working and I can open doors, trunk and close the car. But when I plug the key into the ignition, turn it, everything is very normal, driver's panel is all lighting, but the engine just DOESN"T START???? BMW dealer said I need a new key. Is this right? Can I program or re-program the key? Thank you very much in advance! |

Yes, this happened with mine as well. Search this forum. There are 2 different procedures you can try to reprogram.

Primetime - follow those instructions. They worked for me. You've got nothing to lose but ~ 5 minutes of your time.
