P1349 Service Code

Does any body know what a P1349 "service engine soon" code is? The guy at Autozone couldn't tell me.

The X started acting like it was misfiring or lost power under acceleration while driving on the freeway. Light came on, I drove for 10 minutes, stop opened the hood, engine was vibrating very hard for just idle. Closed the hood and light went off and everything went back to normal. I never turned the motor off and just drove way.

Cam sensor makes good sense. Does anyone know what the average life on a cam sensor is or is there a milage marker for replacement of sensor. 80,000 100,000 120,000? I am at 184,300

So with a little more research I found this:

www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/bmw/
P1349 code = Misfire Cylinder 4 With Fuel Cut-off

What does this mean? Do I need to change my plugs?

Pull the plug and see what it looks like. Could be plug, coil, injector leaking into cyl 4, among other things.

It turns out it was my idle control valve. The old one had broke and was not able to open and close all the way. I replaced it and problem solved.

I'm surprised you didn't get an ICV code for that. Hooray it's fixed though.

I have a 2000 X5 4.4(production 10/1999) with 245.000k on it never any big
problem, I don't want to nook it ,but yesterday it went in to
trans.safe mode so I don't know the problem jet, but the code 1747 came up, which tells me the three modules it feeds my have a problem, or defective wiring.
