P1349 Service Code
Does any body know what a P1349 "service engine soon" code is? The guy at Autozone couldn't tell me.
The X started acting like it was misfiring or lost power under acceleration while driving on the freeway. Light came on, I drove for 10 minutes, stop opened the hood, engine was vibrating very hard for just idle. Closed the hood and light went off and everything went back to normal. I never turned the motor off and just drove way. :dunno: |
cam sensors i believe.
|
Cam sensor makes good sense. Does anyone know what the average life on a cam sensor is or is there a milage marker for replacement of sensor. 80,000 100,000 120,000? I am at 184,300

So with a little more research I found this:
www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/bmw/ P1349 code = Misfire Cylinder 4 With Fuel Cut-off What does this mean? Do I need to change my plugs? |
Bump, En1?
|
Pull the plug and see what it looks like. Could be plug, coil, injector leaking into cyl 4, among other things.
|
It turns out it was my idle control valve. The old one had broke and was not able to open and close all the way. I replaced it and problem solved.
|
I'm surprised you didn't get an ICV code for that. Hooray it's fixed though.
|

I have a 2000 X5 4.4(production 10/1999) with 245.000k on it never any big problem, I don't;) want to nook it ,but yesterday it went in to trans.safe mode so I don't know the problem jet, but the code 1747 came up, which tells me the three modules it feeds my have a problem, or defective wiring.
