the install is fine however be aware that the radio display wont show the song titles or text from the ipod... you'll need something like dice or some adapter to do so.

Hello DKL

I have a 2004 X5
You have Nav unit, a CD Changer and the MP3/IPod plug also ?

I was told by some one that you could have either a CD changer or a Ipod set up but not both?

How did you do it and is there a Retrofit kit?

Thank you
Jim

I don't have Nav. The AUX kit is nothing more than a 3.5mm stereo jack for you to feed audio to the car's system. This will work with any gadget that you want to get audio onto the car's stereo. This AUX kit, however, is different from the iPod retrofit kit, which only works with, of course, an iPod. It is true that you can only have either the iPod kit or a CD Changer.

Note: iPods can be an MP3 players, BUT MP3 players do NOT equate to an iPod.

Here is my MP3 player

Yes...I have both, the AUX kit and the CD changer. Use the mode button to toggle between all your sources (CD changer, CD player, AUX, Radio). Installation is pretty straight forward. Take a look at items 20, 21, and 22 of the Stereo section in the home page for instructions of the AUX install.

Hello DKL,

Is the Aux Kit a BMW Kit or from a some one Else?

Thank you
Jim
