SMG steering wheel

So I got a good deal on an M3 SMG wheel on another forum, and I have the slip ring on order. Has anyone done this conversion recently and have any tips for me? Or does anyone have a more detailed (text wise) link to instructions than the one on the home page?

I will be trying the diy method, not purchasing the retrofit fit.

How much is it to get the SMG steering wheel with paddleshifters for my 02 X5 3.0 diesel euro. I have the 4 spoke steering wheel.

Tischer sells it for $500, e46fanatics forum, there is one for $250 right now, and you will need a pair of 3 ft of stranded wires, and a slip ring. And then, masaya na ang buhay!
