ive driven a 4.4 x5 with both front and rear air suspension and the ride was considerably stiffer. I didnt check if it had ride height adjustability however in the land rover world, many people convert their air suspension to the conventional kind as they are (were) plagued with problems. i dont think that translated to the x5s when bmw introduced it to the x5 however i would prefer the standard shocks/struts config to the air suspension.

Stiff driving for the driver is fine but its downright jarring for the passengers.

The pre 04 4.4's could be had with 4 corner air suspension (not sure about 6cyl or diesel). The 4.6is never had the option for it (not precisely sure as to why). The 4.8is (04+) does have the option. Not sure why there is so much confusion on this subject.

Getting back to my original question, do you know if the 4.6is front springs are lower than the base 4.4i springs?

Thanks,

-Paul

DAMN! YOu are very lucky to have front and rear air suspension. The 4.6 has the same suspension as the 4.4 sport. that includes rear air suspension and the same springs and ride height in the front as the 4.4

Cool

I'm looking into the Intax module now p/n INT-20-6-103. However the website specs 4.8is 2004>... awaiting their reply to my email. (Atleast one member here, DVS, has installed the unit on a 4.4i)
