I dont really know but my technical common sense says, when you look at the front strut (under the guard), if you see a spring, inside which is the strut column, then I would suggest it is a regular type MacPherson strut front end (i,e no provision for an air "chamber"). My 2001 4.4i has airbag rear and regular front...and no, I dont have "that switch" to the side of the steering column either.
