Unhappy Using my keyless to close the windows.

Hi, I want to close my windows the the remote key the same way you can open them, but it appears that this can't be done, why is that?
I have a european 2000 323i, and I can close and open the windows with the remote keyless, but on my american X5, I can't, I can just open them, but not close them.

I believe this is a safety feature, so no hands get caught when the windows are closing.

I also thought that, but when you close the windows with the key in the hole, and you place your arm or anything between the window and then it reaches you, the window stops moving. But, it might be that! Can anyone help me more? thanks!!!!

Not really sure what kind of "help" you need...its pretty simple, USDM models wont close the windows by using the key and especially if there is a hand in the way..saftey hazard...

That's correct. That is the answer.

Shame that as I can confirm that UK models will open and close all the windows and sunroof from the key.

Very useful to open and close from my office if I forgot and it starts raining...

Exactly, as I said my 323i, it's the European version and does the same, I don't get why the American version can't!!!!

I thought that the key was not programmed for that function, but it seems, that it can't be programmed!

Wonder what the difference is with US and EU models - other than the right hand drive. If it's capable with a UK model, it should be electronically capable with the american - anyone agree with that? Maybe next time someone is at the dealer they can ask.
