Power Steering Noise
Just had my '04 4.4 into the dealer for a few loose ends. I had mentioned to the service guy that I was getting a lot of whine coming from the power steering when nogtiating tight turns under power. He never had anyone drive it (nice I know) but had them top off fluids. Noise is still there. I was actually in the garage the other night when my wife drove the truck in and I could here the noise from 20 feet away.
Anyone else experiece any such noise or whine from the steering? |

The only thing I would say is make the dealership drive the vehicle. I had the power steering hoses (all of them) leaking on my '04 X5 and didn't notice any noises or any drips from these hoses. Turns out the whole system was bad. The only noticable complaint I had at the time was that the steering just didn't feel right.

did you check the level of the steering fluid? What you hear could be the pump running low in fluid which in such case would not last very long unless to top it. I could be too late though
