RUMORS? What about the NEW "M" X5?

I love my 2006 X5 4.8iS But I have had my interest peaked by rumors of a new high peformance version of the X5. I keep hearing tidbits and pieces
of the new rocket. In the mean time I am so excited I have even looked at the Porsche Cayenne GTS. I think the Twin Turbo is over priced. Anyway I am a Porsche NUT HOWEVER the Cayenne S is just not the vehicle that the 2006 X5 4.8iS is. So I have the X5. THe GTS looks like its worht a shot but I dont want to buy a GTS to find out that BMW has a Monster MX 5 coming to dealers. I already have a Z4M so it would be cool to have another M in the garage. The smart thing would be to stand pat with the X5 I have now
but i have the urge to Mod the thing or get a new hot rod SUV. I dont know of any mods to the X5 though.
Thoughts?

As far as I know, BMW has not announced exactly when the 4.4 Twin Turbo V8 is coming to the X5. Would probably be 2010 at best.

Wait, isn't there a guy who lives in the same town who has exactly the same cars (or was it a GT2?)??? Wasn't his name "OldGuy?" :dunno

edit:
YES! His username is "OldGuy" and he lives in mammoth and has a 2006 X5 4.8iS and a 2007 Porsche GT3.......

edit: LOL!! It's ok, I just thought it was so bizarre that two people who live in the same place and drive the same car(s) would both post on X5World. But we have had stranger things happen.

have a good one OldGuy/Paulgt3

From my info there will not be any X5 M. Only an "is" version equivalent. Check this thread.

LeMans I will go check out that thread but can you elaborate?
Will there be a twin turbo X5 with no M designation? that would
be OK but no hot rod SUV would send me back to Porsche.
Or are you saying no hot rod version of the X5?
I would appreciate any help. That would keep me from waiting
on a rumour and I will go on and spec out a GTS

There is rumor that they will be making some changes across X5 line in fall of this year when diesel X5 is released. Don't have details on engine yet, but expect the DPC and other features from X6 to hit X5 and it will wear the Xdrive logo. I am not ruling out the engines changes as yet. So keep fingers crossed. The 4.4 TT engine is supposed to have different variations.
