New to the site! Got my first E53...

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the site and this is my first post...

I've been a member of the bimmerforums.com for quite a while and have owned many other BMWs in the past, but this year decided to go with the SAV: 2004 X5 4.4i Sport/Premium package w/NAV & Panoramic sunroof = AWESOME machine!

I noticed this site (forum) has everything an E53 owner would ever need; therefore I've joined to share and learn from others experiences with this vehicle.

Again, hello to all!

Dannye

welcome dannye.

My brother in law Tony mentioned you were looking for an x5. glad you found one.

I was looking at a blue 04 4.4 and ended up getting an silver 05 with nav/ pano roof/bluetooth/front-rear pdc/oem sidesteps and the works. Im just not a fan of the rims (same 5 stars as yours) but it will make due for now until i can save up for 19's.

Just make sure you take care of all of the dealer fixes before your warranty wears out.

Best,
AC

Hey AC, heard a lot about you from Tony. I was also going to get that blue 4.4, but wanted it fully loaded with the NAV so I found the clean white one you see pictured on top. Also hate the rims and will be upgrading soon.

Small world!

yeah, i was really gung ho about upgrading to 20"s but realized how much a pitb it was when i upgraded my e46 m3 to 19's. the ride was horrible in the city and the mrs. is already complaining the x5 rides stiff on 18's.

My first mod was to get the Intravee adapter and a bunch of alpine things to get the ipod and usb thumbdrive working to display the song titles on the nav screen.

Ive already changed out all the filters and liquids and have the front and rear differential fluids to change this coming weekend. Call it a labor of love but for many reasons, I actually have more fun getting a used car than a new car. Let me know if you need any info or help with the car. My best friend owns a body shop and gets parts directly from bmw if you need any 4.8 mods.
