e70 wheels on e53?

Ran 22" Breyton Magic Super on the E53 circa 2010... god those wheels were cool. Yes they fit. Ride however, is a different story. Im on 20's now, with tires that barely fit.

I got 18 rims, so I'll put the biggest tires I can on 8 inch rim, 235 65 18
And by biggest I mean the tallest, as the wheels look really small on the vehicle

By small do you mean diameter?

I have 18x8 with 255/55-R18 tyres on Style 131 - looks pretty decent to my eye. I'd like to run 25mm spacers on the rear to step them out a little but the legislative issues make it not worth the hassle...
