Well, to be honest, we do use chrome on our motorcycles - but's it's completely different then when using it on cars. Here's my favorite one...

jandct: It seems you always made the right choice when it came to wheels for your whips. The chrome 214s against that black X look sharp! Let's forget what the majority here is saying for a moment.......The chrome add-ons: Are they tastefully done? Does the X turn heads? Get a little grin when you walk up on it? Yes? Then we have a winner! Just don't let me catch you with chrome door pulls, headlight surrounds, taillight surrounds, etc.......
By the way: The 214s and the Toyos make your stockies look like spares.......

OK, I am going to go against the grain here. I don't mind the chrome wheels, especially on black. I just don't get why everyone likes the "snowflake" design of these wheels.

Of course what do I know - I like the "flower" design of the 215's.

Crap, anything is better than my stock 17's!!!!

Thanks! There's not a chance you will find one more ounce of chrome going on the X. I think that's why we like it so much, there are no other shiny surfaces anywhere, the X is almost entirely black. Don't think we would like it as much otherwise...

We actually were torn between the 215's and the 214's - the 215's are definitely sharp! We decided on the 214's because for some reason the 20" 215's visually appeared smaller to us than the 214's. We considered the 21" 215's, but we live in the downtown Dallas historic district and the roads down here are horrible - we've already repaired the 19" wheels on the G35 three times in the past year.

BTW, the historic district is why you see such 'eclectic' homes on either side of us. Ours is a completely renovated three story neo-classical revival built in 1912. A lot of others in the neighborhood are still multi-tenant homes that were single family prior to the Great Depression - those tend to just keep on deteriorating until the owners finally sell to someone who converts it back to single family and renovates it. I've lived in Dallas my whole life and watched this district begin to slowly recover back in the early 80's, but in the past 5 years it really has begun to take off and we are seeing more young families and professionals move into downtown than ever before.
