Saving money isn't dumb. You're right. What I thought was dumb was painting the plastic panel which is already painted and extremely prone to flaking off. It's already been replaced on my car and just a matter of time before it has to be replaced again. Painting it might look good but would look terrible once it started peeling.

Ive heard people who brought their x5's in to have their factory piece replaced due to chipping. I recently brought mine in to have the driver door handle replaced due to paint chipping as well.

This might be a good customization mod for someone and having the photo to show this as an individual order item is appreciated. I like the contrast in the photo but probably woudlnt do this mod personally.

Yeah, sounds like the dealer parts are workin' for you too...

If you do it right and add a clear coat, you shouldn't have any peeling problems. Hell, at least that way if it DOES start peeling, take it back off and friggin' paint it again!!

Still cheaper than the dealer parts...
