How far is the BMW dealership? I say go to a BMW dealership to satisfy him, and have them write a letter stating that they are replicas. Worth your $1400 I say. Because he will send paypal the pictures he has that says "BMW ..." and you will send non orinale etc - I just think its worth it for you to go to dealer, tell him if he's so confident, if the dealer says it is in fact a replica - he has to pay shipping. See what he says then. That will let you know if he's SURE!

And it sounds like he thinks the center caps mean that its real. Just because he was duped, doesn't mean that it is real.

his reply:

"and y you are at the bmw dealer please ask them the price of each wheel, so that u can see that you got a really good deal on these tires and wheels.the bmw dealer that is near you is bill jacobs bmw the number is 6303571200, you need to call and get directions and take the wheels up there."

my reply:

"If I wanted fakes, I would have purchased them. I bid on this auction because the wheels were AUTHENTIC. Please refund my money."

My closest BMW dealer is 30 minutes away. It's unfortunate that either he is uneducated to the world of replicas, or his is trying to not lose the sale. I'd rather not drive and waste Bill Jacob's time either. The issue is really black and white to me at this point.

Interesting thread...
the Made in Italy is not necessarily equal to replica: I have some oem BMW wheels,
(came on car from factory), with made in Italy stamped on them...NEway, those are
clearly reps.

This guy ain't gonna give up. I push him and point out you have his replica, not oem wheels,
he will not get his dough; thus, maybe he could tell you where to meet and you could drop
them off in a parking lot meet.

And, if a BMW stlr is handy, toss one in the back and have the Parts Mgr tell you they are reps,
not that this punque seller will believe you.

Maybe put up his email and we can all hammer him, lol!
Keep the updates coming; this is a classic.

Very classic.. interesting that some are made italy.

Non Originale - you don't need to know italian to know what that means.

I say call a parts mgr, and ask him if he should see "non originale" on any "OEM" wheels purchased.

Ask the seller for HIS receipt of these so called authentic wheels then.

I think he meant authentic tires.. LMAO.

GOOD LUCK!! Give him hell!!

Do you have a good relationship with your dealer? Maybe he will write you a letter without seeing them based on the pictures. It's worth a shot to have some ammunition should paypal give you a hard time.

Good luck

I do have a good replationship with my dealers, Knauz and Bill Jacobs...

I got off the phone with Citi - they want me t osend the wheels back to him whether he accepts them or not, and they want proof that he accepted them or not...

Should I do this and supercede Paypal's routine? I have more trust in Citi...

his replies:

"i am not refunding anything because the wheelsare authentic. we will just have to let paypal decide this one because u do not know what you are talking about.u are desperately trying to get out of paying for the wheels but i am not refunding anything, i sent you what i stated was in the auction and you have to pay for them."

"u need to open all 4 wheels and take to the nearest dealer.you are evidently trying to get out of paying for the wheels, but soon u will find out that it doesn't work that way."

I find it odd that he is still arguing with me even after I'm beating a dead horse with the "NON ORIGINALE" stamps...Should I go through Citi to get my money back, or Paypal, although I think I know what the answer is.
