Thanks. I do a 100km round trip a day in bumper to bumper traffic hence the extra wear, but I still think it is strange to have that much. I had an ML before the X5 and I didn't need a set of rotors in the 4 years I owned it.

I cut my rotors the last time I did my brakes. I will never do that again. These new rotors have these 2 devits that once one goes away after time, that means you have less then 30% rotors life left. Its this new design from Brembo. They say you can go at least 30k miles before one devit starts to disapear. All I can say is these brakes are really nice now. The Akebono's were a little soft in the begining, but now are beded in so they bit real good now. Overall I'm very happy, I think whom ever wants something that will last longer and will break just as good as OEM, get the Akebono's with the brembo rotors.

It's been more then a year since you posted.. can you give an update on how these are going for you? I'm thinking about picking up a set from ebay.

Just perfect

Hey slowbra, I'm glad you like your brake set! So far these brakes are just perfect! Whom ever wants dust less, and still wants OEM braking power, go with this set up. I still have at least 60% pad life, and rotor still show all divits. Get the set from ebay, that's where I got mine. I'm glad I could help. Let me know if you need anything else.

Did your kit come with rotors too?

BMW X5 X-5 Brakes Rotors Discs Pads Kit 04 03 02 01 :eBay Motors (item 220416908845 end time May-22-09 22:35:39 PDT)

How much did you pay for your kit?

Presumably you used the grease on the ears of the pads where they contact the calipers, to reduce noise and vibration. Don't grease the sliding pins, they are meant to be dry.
