Powder Coated Rims on my 4.8is

Some of you may recall from last December my decision to purchase an Imola 4.8is with Chrome 168 wheels. I was offered a great deal and figured I would be able to live with the chrome. Not so, I absolutely despised ever element of chrome on a BMW and especially Imola. So I decided to have them blasted and powder coated. Here is the finished, undressed product. I'll be getting the Porter Cable out when I return from Europe. I thought of selling but figured this was a more frugal first step.

Give me the straight goods on the color and finish. I went much darker Anthracite with a Primer Coat than I orginally intended. Balls out or what?

I guess we'll refer to it as Brake Dust Grey. Total cost was $600.00. I have to agree, this was darker than I originally intended. Way better for me though than having the mirror finish.

Maybe it looks different in person, but I would have to agree, looks like you need to clean your wheels....not really the results I would be looking for, but its your car. Looks good no matter what tho....its a Bimmer.....
