I wish I could offer the answer, but this is not entirely uncommon. Something is jamming in the motors that is causing them to go back out. They do this because it is on the safe side, better to be unfolded so you can use them then folded in.

Now, this note here isn't the best advice..but it worked on mine

Manually push each mirror closed, then manually open them again...then try the mechanized way.

My relative accdentaly manually folded them and afterwards i was pretty mad and worried he might have broke something but it was fine and everything still works. So I think it would be okay to try wagners idea.

The likely cause for the problem is that the metal pin of the microswitch is loose. When the mirrors are folded and there's not a contact to the microswitch the mirrors are folded back to their original position.

The microswitch is inside the mirror. You don't need any tools to fix the problem, but you need to be careful when removing the plastic covers of the mirror. You can find the repairing instructions from here:

try moving your switch over from pass to drivers mode. I know when my switch is not controlling my drivers side mirror I don't get my passenger mirror to move down when I'm in reverse

Smile success

Hi everybody I would just reply with a happy outcome on the folding mirror fault, first I tried moving the mirrors in and out manually this did not make them work. So then I stripped the back of the passenger side mirror and found the lever on the micro switch diconnected, I reconnected it and tried them ,they still did'nt work. so then I removed the back off the drivers side mirror and found the lever also diconnected from the switch, I reconnected the lever to the switch DRIVERS side and both mirrors fold in and out at the touch of a button success.
