I bought " folding mirrors of ebay and they had no glass on them, so i took my doors off and connected the mirror harness to the switch

Ohh noo .. they fold in & straight back out !. One of the metal pins was completely off the switch so could not have been working. I put the switch back on its latch and still same problem and sometimes no response at all.

As far as I can see The bulk of operation/control of the mirror is all within its housing (i.e motor + micro switches). Any more clues?. I dont want to start using mutimeters on my wiring harness ....

One other question comes to mind.

People with Folding in & out problems complain that BOTH mirrors are affected right? But due to the presence of micro switch is both housing, why is the affliction not isolated to the mirror with the faulty metal pin?.

maybe the WDS might shed more light on this?

I think you need to have the passenger folding mirror installed as well. check all your plugs..

I connected to the plugs to the 2 door switches fine but no luck. Unless the folding mirror button on the master door switch itself is faulty. I presume that the switch is not a two position button for on/off but returns to same height/position regardless of mirror position?

cheers

I have the same problem two times. It is because it is still under warranty, I took it to the dealer, they fix it free of charge and the second time they said, when we push the button 5 times, it won't work. You have to turn the key on and off two times, and it will work again. They said, it was programmed for avoid the children to play with the button. It is working now but sometimes it won't work.

Anyone have a picture of this switch??? The French site does not have anymore pics. I'm not even sure it's French since Google couldn't translate it.
