18k miles are really low for a 04...
I searched everyday (3x/day) for about 5-6 weeks. I finally found the it on ebay. Did the carfax, called dealer, asked a lot of questions. They told me it was a family that vacationed in FL 2x/yr and only drove it about 2-3k/miles every vacation. It was still under warranty and with only 17.5k miles in 4 years... I thought how bad of a shape could it be in. The Land Rover of FLL had 100% positive feedback with 13 sales, no complaints. It was a reputable dealer and I got good responses from the dealer when I called and asked a lot of questions. They weren't impatient or got tired of my questions. My only problem now is that I'm still waiting for my title so I can get plates... bureacracy/red tape they say... 2.5 months?

Anyhow. the car was in pretty good shape. Just a couple cosmetic things from the old owner and some curb rash on rims. Nothing major. Took it in for indy PPI-inspection and they told me car looked almost new. My experience was pretty good one.

Front speakers were blown and local BMW dealer replaced them for free. Sunroof screws were loose and rattling. they fixed that easy problem too.

I just bought an extended warranty from warranty direct. +4years/up to 100k. for $3200 w/ 0 ded. I drive approx 22-23k mi/yr. We'll see if it's worth it.

Did you buy yet? 3.0 or 4.4?

I just bought a CPO 2005 X5 4.4 with 35k miles from Encinitas BMW (Dealer) for $27k plus tax/license. Fight harder.

Car is fully loaded with EVERY option except adjustable ride height. Mint condition.

Great Buy! Congratulations. If you haven't purchased it yet... I agree with radelow... fight harder for a deal. Be patient and wait for exactly what you want and the price you can't refuse! It is a huge buyers market for SUV/SAVs. I purchased mine back in March, so gas was still running at $3.90/gal. Now it's $4.50 in Oregon for Super. Everyone is trying to get 4-cyl cars, so you have the advantage now.

OMG you guys in the U.S. of A. are really getting good deals on autos. No wonder so many Canadians are heading south for vehicles lately. For anyone willing to take the trouble saving of $10-$15K have been rumored.

Looks like the there's truth to the rumors then... I got my 2005 4.4 with Preminum, Cold Weather Activity Package, 21K miles for $40K.

Well, now all you can do is enjoy your car. My last car was an Accord I bought in 98. I bought it for $19.2 cash and my beat up Escort as a trade. 3 days later I see 6 available in the paper for $17999. I was young and dumb, but I swore never to be taken advantage of by a stealership again. Just a small lesson in life that helped me save a lot more in purchases for the rest of my life.

No use having buyers remorse. Just enjoy your ride and

US has a great used car market. Its just that you have to bargain hard and be patient to get a great deal. Good luck and enjoy your truck....

Lucky you. I drive about 30 miles to work everyday. Plus add extra miles going golfing all the time. Not complaining though! I drive about 2k/mo. Gas costs me $100/wk (actually about 6days).

I just saw an '06 4.4i with all the options... Nav, Sport, Prem, Cold w/fr & rr heated st and steering whl, PA, and with only 23k miles... $34k. They were only offering me $24 on mine. No thanks!
