Not to hijack your thread, but I was curious to see what plugs were available for my 2000 X5 4.4l, I used NGK's in my M3 and I found them on www.LandrParts.com, the most expensive one was $10.59, but I came across Pulstar, 2 for $49.90! Why are they expensive? Are they that great? Here is the write up....

As of now I imagine my 2000 X5 has the original plugs, I am thinking of replacing them, but then again everything is working fine, I don't want to change them and get issues, but if I did what will be the biggest benefit, will the mpg improve, etc?

new plugs will give you better MPG .it burn cleaner and etc...

I changed the stock platinum plugs at 105k miles with the same. hopefully I'll never have to change them again.

If you're at 100k miles. Change the plugs..trust me...I changed mine at 90k..NGK Iridiums...Made a noticeable difference..

they were somewhat worn. but it's harder to tell as compared to a copper plug. I don't recall mpg going up much if any after changing. factory schedule calls for plugs at 100k so I would definitely change them if I'm close to 100k. |
