For those in the know, should I expect to get better fuel consumption as the K's on the clock increase?
Dont see anyone saying you get better fuel consumption with a petrol x5!In the experience of a group of X5 Diesel owners here in Portugal,we are getting between 28 and 24Mpg(10-11.75 ltr/100)(maybe 30Mpg(9.3 ltr/100 wimp driving!).Some of us with "soft"reprogrammed ECUs are getting 27-22Mpg!
All Of the X5 group with 3.0i get 21-23Mpg(12.2-13.4 ltr/100).4.4 and 4.6 here are always complaining they are getting below 20 Mpg(14 ltr/100)!!
An exception to this is a posting from a member here that managed to get +24Mpg on his DInan 4.4.,which I too find hard to believe!!

Sorry my misinterpretation. Just had a couple of people saying there was not much difference, which I found hard to believe.

I must admit I am very happy with my fuel consumption rate, just a question though, it seems that the guys who what I would call "Chipping" there cars eg a Dinan module? are getting better fuel economy?

My 3.0d Sport is now 6 months old. It has 18500 miles on the clock and has been chipped with a Tunit box to add about 40-50bhp to the 218 under the hood.

Not only does it go like a train, but I drive it like everyday is its last and I have left one of the average mpg computers alone since day 1. It currently shows 26.9mpg which I think is amazing.

On a run to the South of France last month we averaged 34mpg and that included 850 miles both ways at an average 85mph with a car full of kids and clobber.

I would really like a thumping V8 for all the right reasons but in the UK with fuel prices as they are and driving the mileage I do I just can't justify it.

Can the Remus boxes be inverted so the tips point slightly down?

Yes.it is possible to do that!We can cut the tips right back at the muffler and
weld them on with the REMUS sign downwards, giving it a more oem look. Our customer just finds the Remus tips too shiny and wants his car to look oem and more understated.

Forgot to mention that this was Diesel that was smoking a bit when we installed the Remus(at custiomers request!),but later on we rectified this when we reprogrammed the Diesel fuel curve on the ECU and the car no longer smokes but still has an additional 25 Bhp up on the std 184!Soft programming but very noticeable and useable!
