Help me find my x5 plzzzzz

I turn 16 in only 2 months and have basically cut down my choices to a infinity g35 coupe or a x5... I absolutely love x5's and have a complete obsession... I want an x5 the most because my mom already has a g35 and i can take that when ever I want.... so pleas help me find a good deal on any black x5 my price limit is as low as possible with decent mileage or about under $24k.... so pleas help me to best your ability... thank you in advance

Like everything else, you have to do your homework - there are plenty of used car websites + BMWusa to look at what's available - If I may suggest that you look for one that is nearby so you (and your parents ) can look at it - If it has high mileage, figure spending some time and $ in the shop making sure it's OK - this website mentions a number of parts and the mileage they typically wear out - try to get an X5 still on extended warranty it possible - find out what has already been fixed/replaced - Good hunting and good luck

Unhappy Get A Job

If you are 16 years old you should not be getting any other car than one that you are willing to wreck and beat the crap out of. Just because you have money doesn't mean that you are yet ready for the responsibility for an X5 or a BMW at that. Oh and by the way that Infinity is actually a Nissan, you shouldn't compare a Japanese car to a BMW. Start with something simple before you decide to get a BMW.

If Mom and Dad are willing to spring for it and can afford it, I say go for it. The BMW X5 is actually one of the safest vehicles on the road, which makes it a great vehicle to put a new driver into. The parents need to be prepared, though, to have a few bumps and bruises put on the vehicle, which go along with being piloted by a 16 year old driver.

Just my 2 cents...

Id like to know when you became the authoritarian on who should get what car and when. I know plenty of people that are 16 and very responsible. If their parents have money and they want to spend it...let them...

And you can compare German to Japanese cars. Just because one is made in Germany and one is made in Japan does not mean you can compare. The G35 is a pretty damn nice car. I personally would not own one..but they have a very good reputation and have lots of get up and go. Who cares if it is a Nissan...and I am sure the 16 year old knows that.

I apologize if this response is a little bit insensative, but the tone of your message implies that you know WTF your talking about...and its obvious that you dont.

Well, young man, you have some VERY good taste!

The X5 is indeed a GREAT vehicle, and you have every right to be obssessed (I just KNOW I mis-spelled that, which drive me nuts 'cause I'm an English major) with it.

Good luck with your search, and let us know how it goes. By the way, welcome to the board.

Juan

I don't mean this to be personal as I know many responsible 16 year olds as well...however, I think one must drive a non-BMW for sometime before jumping into one. Hes not really going to appreciate it when he starts out in what I'm sure we all agree in the best SUV/SAV, etc. My .02.

Finally someone that agrees with me...I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings but I just believe that a 16 year old should be put into a car that he/she can do a little damage to and to do that to a BMW would be a shame...your right the BMW is one of the safest SUVs out there but there are other cars out there that are just as safe and can be used as starter cars...and BTW Infinity's are made in a plant on the same motor line as the Nissan's ( I know so because I build the motor lines for their plants)
