How to know which transfer case I have

I lost my transfer case the other day and am ordering a rebuilt one from transfercases.com. They state that they only have the NV125 in stock. Is there a way to check the model of my transfer case without dropping it. Also, what other model case is there and is the NV125 a newer better version. I have a X5 4.4 2001 sport. I would like to order then drop.

Also, while I'm down there, should I do anything else other than the drvie shaft? Gonna get my hands dirty might as well go all in.

One more thing, anyone have expericance with transfercases.com? any bad ones?

Thanks guys! Oh, I have a good connection for 4.4L water cooled factory rebuilt bosch alternators. Paid $350 for mine with core. Let me know if anyone needs the contact info. Thanks,
