rear oval cover on 3.0
My name is Joe and I am new to the X5 world and to this site. Already I have goofed and am wondering if there is anyone who can help out a fellow american who's down on his luck I just bought a 2001 X5 3.0 and I had to see what was behind the little oval cover in between the exhaust pipes and now WALA! It's gone.... Does anyone know how much they are or the name of it? Better yet anyone have a black one they would be willing to sell??? |

I believe you're talking about the cover where the trailer hitch is supposed to go.
I am trying to look for the part right now on RealOEM. If you want, Google that name and search around that site too. Edit: Ok, after searching, they call this a "Flap." Part number: 51128402327 and it costs $16.41 |

You may want to check the metal clip/tabs on the back. My cover fit so loose it barely took any effort to remove,. A large bump would have probably caused it to fall off like yours did so I bent them a little which made it fit much more securely.
