Here's a new one....

My 2005 4.4 occasionally sets off the alarm for no reason when I hit the unlock button on the key. I saw that others have had this problem as well.

Thursday night I was about to put the X5 to bed and hit the unlock button to get in. The turn signal / marker lamps flashed......and then continued to flash. Starting the car had no effect, hitting the hazard button or the turn signal stalk had no effect, turning the car on and off, no effect, hitting the buttons on the remote, no effect, etc. Curiously, the dash indicator lamps did not illuminate to indicate the signals / hazards were on.

As an aside, I was catching a flight to Las Vegas in the morning and was not excited about coming home to a dead battery.

Finally, I took it for a quick drive and at some point the lights stopped flashing and the hazard button / turn signal stalk returned to normal function.

Anyone heard of this, or have any ideas????
