Do 2004's play mp3's?

Never really thought about it, but I was about to make a "long drive" CD, and obviously gave it some thought.

On another note, I was told by my stlr that my X had Assist AND bluetooth, but lately Ive been hearing otherwise. I wasnt worried about it before, but now that I will be shipping my X back to the US in a few months, I might actually USE these functions....Any insight?

I think only the 2005's do, but try it and find out. You have nothing to lose.

Don't know about 2004's.
But I can certainly tell you by brand spanking new 2005 with everything fitted does NOT play mp3 disks.

Same here and I must say that I am really disappointed about this! It is astonishing that BMW which, I am sure you would agree, has become synonymous with state of the art, still fits its highly popular X5 with outdated junk! I also find it shocking that opening my NAV panel reveals a tape deck! I mean what the hell are they thinking with this last century trash?

It doesn't play mp3? I have to try this on my 2005. It says on the manual that it does. It's false advertisement if it doesn't and bmw would fix this for you if you complained enough or threaten some type of legal action.

I copied some MP3's from my copmuter using Nero. I burned them to a regular CD-R.

Are you sure nero isnt converting the mp3`s to wavs as it does the cd, this is usualy how nero works. You need to make a data disk of Mp3`s to test it properly.
