If you left debris under the wheel on the hub, it won't be seated. Doesn't matter how tight the bolts are.

If you lifted on the thrust arms, or put jack stands under them, then you likely damaged the bushings that way. That would explain why you got the problem after you did the brake job. It may all be self-inflicted.

Wow that confident, huh? Click for a bigger pic. Looks like its split in the middle where the bolt goes through. That string is just holding my steering tie rod/tension rod up.

Unfortuneately the air hammer is useless in this repair, and would end up damaging the bushings in the process. But it is an easy task with the shop press. I simply line it up and use the new bushing to press the old one out, gets it all in one shot! Just make sure whoever does the pressing lines up the bushing correctly... there is a small arrow on the rubber face of the bushing that lined yp with a metal dot on the arm, should be easy to spot. And once it's pressed in, there's no turning it without pressing it back out to do so!

Hmm OK i get what you saying about debris. I'll def check the one thats already off right now. Pretty positive i shot everything with the air gun and wiped it down as well.

I didn't do this. I put jackstands at the reccomended spots, the rectangles on the 4 corners of the car. When i jack the front up its always on the jackspot in the middle of the frame.

That split is not where I'm talking about, it would be where the rubber connects from the outer ring to the inner section of rubber, but they only really show the cracking/tearing when they're really bad off. You're pretty safe changing them. The picture does show signs of how old/dry/weak the rubber is.

They aren't OEM though, should I be concerned about that?

well, they look to be made exactly like the OEM ones, so as long as they're at the correct tolerances for the pressed in fit, not too big or too small... then they should be fine.

But if they don't fit properly, how hard would they be to return? That is the question. It might be worth a minutes time to call the parts department of your nearest BMW dealer and just ask for a price on them. Might not be but couple bucks more... and you don't have to wait for shipping.

Well Crevier is $49 + Shipping. I don't even bother with the local dealerships since their prices are so rediculous. I'm sure if they are made to meet or exceed OEM standards than the fit will be fine. I bought non-oem window regulators and so far so good lol.
