Transmission problems after remap

Hi All,

I've just had my 2001 4.4 beast remapped. The day I got it back she was crisper than a really crispy thing-big grin on my face!!

BUT a day or two later she started acting up, like when driving from cold she would jerk when pulling away from standstill. This was using a constant pressure on the throttle-not accelerating any faster but just allowing the car to pick up itself, albeit jerkily!! Then once the engine is warm the gear selection feels odd. I will be driving fairly sedately for example, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, around 20-30mph which is fair enough, though I do think that high a gear selection is...er.. a little high for that speed?? Before the remap I think I remember the car staying in 3rd at the most around that speed, and if I pushed down on the throttle a little more then 2nd would be selected.

Since this time it has been back to the tuners and they say there is nothing wrong with the remap and that its a transmission fault, and that I should take it to the stealers to have it checked out.

Personally I cant believe this is simply a coincidence, but before I do anything more, I just want to be sure of my facts. So if you guys can shed any more light onto this episode I would be very grateful. Can the transmission/adaptive driving feature be upset/be affected by a remap. Again, personally I think it has at least upset something in the air/fuel mixture region as there is jerking when cold....

Thanks, Ian
