oil drain plug

hi guys,

i have an 01 4.4i and am having problems with oil leaking from oil drain plug. it seems to rotate freely and not tightning. also i can't seem to see a washer of any sort. i have only just had oil/filter changed with no problem before this. i suspect the plug is threaded or the maybe the pan? would replacing the drain plug help or am i looking at a new oil pan ($$). i
any help would be appreciated.

thanks

You're definitely looking at a new plug. Hopefully you haven't over-tightened it to the point that the threading is damaged on the pan.

Get a new crush washer with the new plug since you've mentioned that your washer might be missing. A new crush washer normally comes with the filter kit, but you can always get the washer separately.
