This interior was only offered on 96/97 model M3's for about a year. Some people have purchased interiors from overseas out of wrecked cars over the years but i've been told only 37 cars came to the US during that time in this pattern from the factory (with some being in light grey so there's even less in anthracite). Most were special ordered by enthusiasts as dealers spec'd their cars with leather because it was a no-cost option on E36's. Cloth-equipped cars built in 94/95 are slightly more common but they have the different 'rain' pattern..

It took me a LONG time to hunt and get my hands on this particular pattern! About 5 years to be exact..
