4.8iS Interior Trade?

I was planning to do the M-textur inserts on some black comfort seats to match the rest of my interior but apparently you cannot buy raw uncut interior materials from the BMW parts dept. like you used to, so my plan has been foiled.

Am now considering just swapping my sport seats + door panels with someone who has the creme interior. MUST have comfort seats. Will trade trim too if someone wants.. makes no difference to me. My seats are in excellent condition

Anyways here's what ive got

Here's what im looking for:

Post up if you've got something or if you feel like telling me im crazy.

You, my friend, are crazy.
Before I ordered my 4.8is I checked out this 4.8is with beige interior in person. The owner showed me how the seats were getting dirty around the bolsters and it had less than 5k miles on it. The X5 was one of three cars the owner had. He suggested that I should not get light color interior. (He had the trim changed to dark wood as dealer goofed up)
I think your interior with inserts is very sporty looking. At best I would change to just nappa leather. I have comfort seats in my other BMW but still prefer the sports seats in X5. my .02. But its your car, so you be the judge.

Hehe. As crazy as it sounds, I want the lighter color interior because it reminds me of my first M3 a long time ago:

I always loved how it made Estoril seem even more exotic. You can keep it clean as long as you stay on top of it.

I already have black cloth/suede interior in my M3:

so I've been kinda thinking about making the cars polar opposites as much as I can...
2dr vs 4dr
6spd vs Automatic
cloth vs leather
dark vs. light
sporty vs. luxury
etc

*I changed my screename because I had too many different ones from all the forums ive joined over the years, so im making them all the same to remember the passwords :P

Sorry, this is a bit OT.............

Where'd you get that cloth for your M3 ???? I haven't seen that pattern before. I have an '88 M3 that I need to do the interior on and was thinking of a similar cloth/seude combo...........

This interior was only offered on 96/97 model M3's for about a year. Some people have purchased interiors from overseas out of wrecked cars over the years but i've been told only 37 cars came to the US during that time in this pattern from the factory (with some being in light grey so there's even less in anthracite). Most were special ordered by enthusiasts as dealers spec'd their cars with leather because it was a no-cost option on E36's. Cloth-equipped cars built in 94/95 are slightly more common but they have the different 'rain' pattern..

It took me a LONG time to hunt and get my hands on this particular pattern! About 5 years to be exact..
