No, thats pretty much it. Other than that, enjoy the truck for what it is!

It is the best truck in the whole wide world =)

I have the 3.0i and put over half a ton in the trunk and didn'y even feel the truck heavy ! :s i wonder what the 4.8is would do :|

By the way ... just wanted to ask, does carrying heavy loads in trunk affects rear suspension or any other thing in the x ??

guys

I just took my x5 back from the dealer and it's not in good shape, the dealer told me it is perfect now ... but i just turned it on and it was all shaking ! :s

Shaking came from engine of course ... other symptoms apeeared like the x is changing gear on RPM 6.5 !!

Could this mean that the engine is damaged ??? what should i do ??? of course am gonna take it back to the dealer, but they only open after 5 hours, and i can't wait, it rlly hurts to see my baby in this state ((

As to your carrying heavy loads question first, if you have regular steel springs, (as you probably do with the 3.0i) then just take note of the ride height as the truck squats and keep the tire pressures at the higher end of the "normal" pressures range, probably about 40-44psi range.

And for the shaking, sounds like a missfire and you probably lost an ignition coil which is a decently common problem. (is the check engine light on or flashing?) The trans shifting patterns are controlled partially by the engine's output. The engine and trans computers see a torque request by your foot and try to fulfill that, if the engine is not reaching full power the trans will hold the gear longer to help with accelloration.

weasel my man ... thanks for clearing this to me ...

And thats EXACTLY what is hapening ... when i press my foot on the gaz, the engine is really not reaching full power(thats why i thought it might be damaged), and then taking longer to shift !

Damn you're good ! ... is changing the "ignition coil" something simple and inexpensive or is it complicated and expensive ???

THANK YOU is not enought to express my gratitude as you really cleared my mind

Well there are 6 ignition coils on your X as it has 1 per cylinder (coil over plug ignition) but if the X5 was recognizing a misfire it would flash the check engine light... So it could be something else causing partial misses in multiple cylinders. Could be a failing/failed crankcase vent calve among other things... but it usually takes 2 or 3 drive cycles to turn on the check engine light with things like that, the engine computer has its own formula where it has to see certain problems more than once before putting the light on.

But if it is consistently running rough maybe just bring it back to the dealer and tell them it just started running rough since you picked it up, not insinuating that they messed it up or anything, but asking their help with diagnosis since it JUST came out of their shop. And hopefully it is something simple. And just about anything that can be done as DIY has a writeup on this site with instructions.

Weasel56 ... I took my x5 to the dealer complaining how i took my x5 in that state, i suggested a missfire, he just apologized, and asked me to wait half an hour ... during that time, i was watching the engineer plug my x into the computer, located a failing spark plug (i dunno if that's what its called in the x but its the thing shaped like your finger but bigger and goes directly over each of the cylinders) and changed it ... in 20 minutes, my x5 was as good as new =D

Thank you so much for your help and thank god my x5 is ok

That thing was a coil, just as I initially suspected...
