Earlier in this thread, a poster who installed a remote starter has disconnected it until the problems get sorted out. Doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement. The conclusion was that yes, they can work, but often they aren't seamless. A good installer makes all the difference, more than the make of the unit. You should find an installer in your town with a good track record on BMWs, and ask them what model they recommend. Just my $0.02
