Transmission Question

Quick question for you guys, I don't know if I should reset my transmission or if there is an actual problem...

scenario: not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign / red light and then turning or going the car seems to be in the wrong gear, the engine will rev up and the car won't do anything and then it jams it into a lower gear pretty violently

wrap your checks book and head to dealer for tranny replace.
your TRANNY is going south.

I had my transmission software updated by the dealler and the problem is gone. Check the board there is much more information already existing.

All you need is a tranny update. Your dealer might say that its not going to help but it always does. I had mine done on my 05 4.4 and it worked.
Like Bob3636 said, do a search and you'll find loads of info.

I guess mine needs an update too. Though, this only happens intermittently in Sport mode - never in the normal mode and never violently.

I'm gonna do a search too.

Hmmm .. then mine seems like a different case altogether.

Sport mode is supposed to shift like a manual (at higher shift points) and mine most of the time is okay. It's just that sometimes, from a stop, when I accelerate it won't shift into second gear. I'm talking all the way up to 5000 rpms and I'm not flooring it - just accelerating normal.

Do the dealers charge anything for the update? Not sure if mine has had it or not?
