BLUETOOTH CONFUSION

Hi to everyone, I have done some extensive research and have come against a brick wall

What I would like to know is why would BMW install controls on a steering wheel and on the Sat Nav unit for a telephone (bluetooth) but not install the cables or harness?

I have come to the conclusion that it is not possible to fit the original BMW system but have to get an after market product

Is it possible to get the cables/harness to hook up the system properly as per BMW spec? Any instructions on fitting/installation?

I have read all the bluetooth section and have been in touch with Bimmernav and still no further forward
